I am told that mixing the red cabbage with the regular salad with blue cheese dressing is incredible, but I hate blue cheese dressing Get together with a number of my college buddies and had an outstanding experience. “ Got discharged from surgery at USC Keck Arcadia and went directly to North Woods Inn for a huge, extravagent lunch. Had been to a NWI in Belmont Shore many years ago and wanted a kitschy, quality dining experience. I hate cabbage but the marinated red cabbage is addictive - so good! Split the lobster and filet combo ($8 charge to share). Lobster was good - prepared well and tender, in a shell stuffed with an almond barley blend. Filet was cooked a perfect medium rare allowing for reheating leftovers without overcooking. Baked potato with cheese sauce was delicious & improved on the usual butter-sour cream option. 4-layer carrot cake is absolutely amazing - huge slice that two of us have been eating for two days now. We ordered a tub of cheese spread and loaf of sourdough to go and they tucked in extra slices of the cheese bread with our order. We ended up with 7 (!) takeout boxes (including one with roasted peanuts to snack on while watching the Dodgers win later on!) and enough cheese bread for days and days...compared to other restaurants offering filet/lobster combos, NWI wins in portion size, extra sides and quality. Our server was a fantastic, responsive woman who was invested in us enjoying a great meal. Perfect way to end a 2-day hospital stay and move on to recovery! ”

“ My daughter and I came here to pick up our order to go.. Yes, it was pricey, but omg. Delicious. It was worth the splurge. I could come here just for the loaded baked potato and be happy and full. You can't go wrong here no matter what occasion. The menu is very classy. But the atmosphere can go either way. Come casual or all dressed up for a special occasion. ”

“ I must say, I always have a great experience here with my family. I'm surprised to see those who said to differ-- I am a fan of their complimentary cheesy bread, and their famous salad. I also don't normally ever drink soda or sugary beverages, but I exceptionally do get their root beer here because I heard they make their own. Aside from that I was happy to see new adjustment with the menu. Our server, Angie, assisted us throughout our time dinning in with them. She was so sweet, and helpful especially since I wanted to try something different and new. I decided to get a patty melt sandwich with potatoes on the side, and my partner got the prime dip sandwich as well. It was a nice dinner to end our evening on a good note. Thank you Angie for accommodating us! We didn't expect to come by that evening, but we're guided there at the last minute, and it was so worth it! ”
